Acclivity Values Your Privacy
Acclivity values your privacy, and in order to make you feel confident in our ability to protect your privacy, we would like to disclose our policies regarding the information that we collect as part of the normal operation of our site and products and how we secure this information. This policy also describes the choices you have regarding the use, access and correction of your personal information.
By visiting and using Acclivity web sites or accepting the Software License Agreement during installation or usage of our software, you expressly consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
What information is collected?
In order to provide you with a smooth, safe and efficient customer experience within our sites and software, Acclivity may ask for personal information. The following information is collected from our web sites and products:
Web Sites – Cookies and similar technologies are used on Acclivity sites. A cookie is a unique text file that a web site can send to your browser and store on your computer. Cookies allow a site to personalize content to improve your browsing experience and are used to analyze trends, gather demographic information and track user movements on our sites. Cookies may also be used to remember user settings, store login addresses, authenticate users, personalize content on our site, and store analytics data. By default, most browsers automatically accept cookies. Users can control the use of cookies on their browsers, but by declining cookies you may affect your ability to view certain pages, use certain features, and download files on our site.
Phone Calls and Chats – When speaking to an Acclivity employee or using the Chat feature on our web site for customer service or to provide technical support, your chat or phone call may be recorded. These calls and chats are reviewed to help us with employee training.
Product Registration – Acclivity asks you to register each product or service you purchase with relevant personal and business contact details.
Trial Versions – When requesting a trial version of our products and services you may be asked to provide personal identifiable information including but not limited to your name, email address and phone number. This information may be used to contact you on your trial experience.
AccountEdge Basic, Pro and Network Edition Product Usage
At various times, when your AccountEdge software connects to the internet, Acclivity may record, but not share, the following AccountEdge information, including: (a) serial number, (b) computer operating system, (c) product version, (d) feature usage, last transaction dates and number of records. Important: Acclivity does not have access to your data file, nor does it collect information about financial performance or any personally identifiable information about your customers, vendors or employees.
AccountEdge Connect Product Usage
If you subscribe to an AccountEdge Connect (AEC) account, information that you create in AEC or sync from your AccountEdge desktop software to AEC resides on secure servers maintained and/or contracted by Acclivity.
Acclivity follows generally accepted industry standards and practices to protect your information during transmission and storage of your data. When sensitive information is entered into AEC or synced to and from your AccountEdge desktop software, we encrypt the transmission of information using Secure Socket Layers (SSL). Once AEC receives your transmission of information, we make commercially reasonable efforts to ensure its security on our systems. However no data transmission or electronic storage over the internet can be guaranteed 100% secure. Therefore we cannot warrant the security of any information you transmit to AEC.
We restrict access to personal information and your AEC data to Acclivity employees and contractors, (bound by confidentiality agreements) who require access to information in order to provide technical support, customer service and/or develop our services and software.
AccountEdge Hosted
If you subscribe to an AccountEdge Hosted (AEH) account we collect registration information necessary to register your account with our partner, Apps4Rent, who maintains AEH’s secure servers and virtual desktops. Read Apps4Rent’s Privacy Policy.
We restrict access to personal information and your AEH credentials to Acclivity employees and contractor (bound by confidentiality agreements) who require access to information in order to provide technical support, customer service and/or develop our services and software.

Who is collecting the information?
When you provide personally identifiable information either on our website, by mail, phone, fax, email, or product registration and usage, your information is collected and stored by Acclivity, unless otherwise noted below.
How will the information be used?
Included with the Software is software provided by Aatrix Software, Inc., (“Aatrix Module”). By using the Aatrix Module you also agree to become bound by the terms of the “Aatrix End User License Agreement” provided with the Aatrix Module and further, you agree that your use of the Aatrix Module is limited to a term of one year from the date you register with ACCLIVITY to use the Aatrix Module.
Who will have access to my information?
Acclivity does not rent or sell your personally identifiable information to any third parties. In order to provide you with offers of interest, however, Acclivity may share only your contact information with approved third-party partners so that the partner may directly make an offer to you. Contact information may include name, company name, address, phone number, fax number, and/or email address. Any access to your information is limited and Acclivity retains sole ownership of all of your personally identifiable information.
SurePayroll is a third-party vendor that provides sales, support, and technology assistance for Full Service Payroll and therefore may have limited, controlled access to your personally identifiable information.
The Artina Group is a third-party vendor that provides sales, support, and product for AccountEdge Checks and Forms, and therefore would have limited, controlled access to your personally identifiable information. Opting out of such AccountEdge Checks and Forms communications (e.g. emails), sent by The Artina Group, opts you out of communication for Checks and Forms only.
Acclivity Certified Consultants are independent consultants who have received a limited certification by Acclivity to provide on-site services, training and other consultative services and therefore may have access to your personally identifiable information for approved sales and marketing initiatives relating specifically to Acclivity products and services.
Electronic Exchange Systems (EXS) is a third-party vendor that provides support and technology assistance for Acclivity Merchant Accounts initiated prior to 11/9/2005, and therefore may have limited, controlled access to your personally identifiable information.
Forte Payment Systems is a third-party vendor that provides support and technology assistance for Acclivity Merchant Account Services, Direct Deposit, and Vendor Payments. Therefore, Forte may have limited, controlled access to your personally identifiable information.
Aatrix is a third-party vendor that provides technology and operational assistance for the Payroll Forms Service, and therefore may have limited, controlled access to your personally identifiable information.
MYOB Ltd, the former parent company of MYOB US, maintains the activation and confirmation system for all products still requiring confirmation (version 2009 and earlier). As such, MYOB Ltd. may have access to your personally identifiable information.
Acclivity utilizes a voice over IP telephone system to deliver efficient service within our call center. As such, our telephony vendor, Genesys PureCloud, may have limited access to your personally identifiable information.
Apps4Rent is a virtual desktop and hosting company that provides technology and operational assistance for the optional AccountEdge Hosted service, and therefore has access to your AEH registration information in order to fulfill and maintain your service.
We augment our Technical Support team with resources from Accion Labs and, as such, they may have limited, controlled access to your personally identifiable information in the performance of their role.
How do we protect your information?
We take every precaution to protect our users’ information on our website. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with encryption software, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
We also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only an employee who needs the information to perform a specific job (for example, an accounts clerk or a customer service representative) is granted access to your personally identifiable information.
In order to manage our customer relations and resource planning, Acclivity utilizes a secure web-based service provider developed by Priority As such, your personally identifiable information may be stored on Priority’s secure servers.
How do you update or correct your personally identifiable information?
To update or correct your information you can log in to your My Account page.
How do you communicate your contact preferences?
To opt-out of email communication you can click on the Unsubscribe link that is at the bottom of each Acclivity email. Please note that opting out may mean that you are not made aware of product information. However, regardless of opt-out status, Acclivity reserves the right to communicate product or services information deemed critical in regards to the operation of the software or services.
We may elect to update or modify our privacy policy as our policies may change over time.
